Its been a busy few weeks at 3PL HQ as we prepare for the mega busy festive period. Prior to the peak we’ve taken the opportunity reflect on one of our favourite events of the past year, the eCommerce Show North 2017. With over 2,400 attendees, 106 exhibitors and 71 sponsors, it was a busy two days at EventCity Manchester for the inaugural eCommerce Show North 2017. With Manchester, Yorkshire and Lancashire having more small online businesses than London, it was vital for the key decision makers and potential clients to get together and talk all things eCommerce. The eCSN had something for everyone including marketing, payments, hardware, software innovation and even logistics and fulfilment (Cough, Cough… That’s Us!). 3P Logistics attended and exhibited at the event allowing for us to give an insight to the attendees as to how outsourcing their logistics and fulfilment can help to take their e-commerce store to the next level. Despite the quintessentially Northern weather, over 1,400 people attended the first day, with another thousand on the second, meaning that eCommerce Show North was the largest event of its type outside of London. With our fancy new 3PL Mints, official 3PL Water bottles, alongside our newly designed exhibition stand, we were a must visit on the exhibition bill! It was refreshing to meet so many up and coming eCommerce businesses. With everyone from Beer importers to gym equipment retailers, it’s a strong sign that eCommerce in the North West is going from strength to strength. Our team of experts from 3P Logistics were on hand, to provide some insight into the benefits of outsourcing to ourselves and the advantages of having an expert fulfilment and logistics team at their disposal. With the sheer growth of the eCommerce fulfilment sector, Operational excellence and delivery is now the new battleground for retail. Behind every good retailer, there is a well drilled operations team behind the scenes, and in order to keep up with growing customer demands, it is important that eCommerce retailers have the experts in their corner. What this event goes to prove is something we have been well aware of for a long time, eCommerce fulfilment expertise in the North West is in short supply vs the sheer scale of sector growth. (Luckily for us and our retailers we like a challenge!) During the event, we managed to grab our founder and MD, Ian Walker, to hear his thoughts on the event. If you haven’t managed to check out the video yet, check it our on our twitter here! The event allowed us to make lots of new connections and we are already well on with helping new contacts with making the step change to outsourced operations. Till Next Year!
