Job Insight:
As a Warehouse Operations Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring continuous workflow across your shift. You will ensure that planned hourly outputs by department are achieved and to a quality standard. You will work closely with the Warehouse Shift Supervisor in ensuring achievement of key metrics across safety, customer, people, cost and quality.
Person Specification
You’ll be a passionate individual, with a desire to share your knowledge with others. You’ll possess a solid operational experience of working within a fast-moving technical Warehousing environment. A good communicator with a technical mindset and the ability to identify efficiency blockers and problem solve accordingly.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The role is varied, and the duties below are not exhaustive.
- Coordinate inbound planning and the processing of inbound receipts on time and in full
- Monitor, record, maintain and embed all company H&S standards including observation reporting, hazard spotting and behavioural auditing.
- Identifying and implementing CI opportunities to improve efficiencies.
- Remove efficiency blockers to consistently achieve GP and OWR performance.
- Coordinate resource planning and the processing of outbound orders on time and in full
- Identify, analyse, and provide feedback on root cause of problems – systemic and physical.
- Coordinate carrier collections
- good stock control disciplines
- Conduct ZT checks – act upon the findings to reduce risk of failure and increase efficiency
- Support investigation and closeout of NCR’s
- Deliver staff communications
- Act as cover in the absence of the warehouse supervisor
- Monitor individual and team performance and act on the intelligence
- Maintain the minimum standard of warehouse appearance
- Provide regular operational updates to the Warehouse Shift Supervisor as required.
- Identify & pursue safety, cost, quality & service opportunities.
- Actively support the HR & Safety functions.
- Attend all relevant training sessions / operational type reviews.
- Ensure all orders are fulfilled on time and in full in line with customer SLA
- Maintain warehousing equipment by scheduling preventive maintenance requirements or overseeing repairs
- Complete relevant reporting criteria
Education and experience
- A proven warehousing background in a fast paced fulfilment services environment
- Committed to supporting team members.
