Job Insight

To maintain accurate inventory relating to system vs physical reconciliation. Thereafter the role oversees predictive inbound planning and warehouse layout effectiveness with close liaison with both warehouse operations and client services.

Person Specification

The role demands integrity and honesty whilst previous FMCG warehouse operator and stock control experience is essential. You will be a conscientious and keen problem solver with an eye for prevention over cure.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • The role is varied and the duties below are not exhaustive.
  • Cycle counting including investigation and resolution.
  • Customer year end stock count support
  • Location maintenance, product maintenance, including updating barcodes and weights and dimensions of product, pick face set up and stock replenishment rules setting.
  • Solving mis-located stock including root cause analysis to minimize risk of re-occurrence
  • Effective warehouse utilization including frequent stock consolidation
  • System maintenance (WMS)
  • Inbound receipt and returns controls.
  • Intelligence reporting
  • Investigations & root cause analysis (stock variance)
  • Liaison with customer services and other departments as necessary
  • Achievement of relevant service criteria (K.P.I.`S)
  • Provide assistance to warehouse operators.

  • Safety – Zero upper location picking.
  • Customer – Zero product outages
  • People – Increased efficiencies

  • Quality – Product by location accuracy (99.5%)

Education and experience

  • Experience in a stock control capacity
  • Sector exposure in any of the following: Retail/ecommerce/ fulfilment/logistics
  • A working knowledge of how Third-Party Logistics works.
  • Use of warehouse technologies e.g., RF and WMS

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to work under own initiative, and self-motivated
  • Good numerical skills
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • High level of competence in use of Microsoft Office products
  • The ability to carry out administrative tasks and use basic mathematics.
